Sampler Knot
Instructions for a simple crocheted knot. Worked as one long strand, then tied together.
Gauge Any size (large or small) will do. Relative gauge is important, though: 23 rows should be about as long as 20 stitches.
Yardage This is a small piece, ballpark 50 m main color.
Instructions Crochet and assembly instructions are given explicitly, with lots of photos.
Techniques The piece is made of single crochets, and outlined in slip stitches. We use running stitch markers made from scrap yarn to keep track of different locations along the strand.
The piece is secured by sewing.
Difficulty Suitable for an advanced beginner. There are no fancy techniques, but there are a lot of stitches to keep track of.
Similar patterns This piece uses similar techniques to my other knots (rectangle, border, scarf, Porteau, two circles, multicolor), but this pattern is by far the simplest! It uses no unlabelled stitch markers, and the locations of all increases are given explicitly.
