This hat pattern is very easy to make! I think an advanced beginner will find Sandy’s Country Hat easy… and more seasoned crocheters will love it!

The stitches used to make this hat are sc, scBLO, scFLO, dc, FPDC, BPDC….if you’re not familiar with the FPDC or BPDC there are several tutorials on YouTube to help you.

I also tried several types of yarn too…the softer worsted weight yarns like I Love This Yarn ( from Hobby Lobby) and Vanna’s Choice work well…I also made one using a Merino Wool Blend too! All of them will work great!

Sandy’s Country Hat can be made with or without a Pom-Pom too. You could add one made with a 2 1/2 inch Pom-Pom maker OR a Faux Fur Pom-Pom..the choice is yours! Oh, and you’ll need a tapestry needle to sew the Pom-pom on the hat!

Yardage for these hats range from 160 yards to 250 yards, …which is less than one skein in most cases! If you chose a wool blend you may need 2 skeins, since they are smaller skeins.
