Scrap Yarn Bear
Hello Scrappy Bear!
I needed a quicker scrap yarn project to do.
That box of odds and ends needed a project for them. I have made the scrap yarn basket before and liked that, but I do get a bit bored on the never ending sides. And I’ve made a couple of scrappy blankets before.
But I just wanted a smaller scrap project. So I worked out a wee bear pattern that I could use on all yarns, big or small.
And it’s so CUTE!
(even the, um, quirky ones)
I’ve made these in 4ply cotton up to 3 strands of 8ply (DK).
I need to get a bigger hook to try thicker, now…
You can use anything from one nice yarn to a few “ugly balls” of scrap yarn together.
A small bear of 1 strand of 8ply (DK) used about 9g of yarn and the larger 3 strands bear was about 40g.
You can also hold different weights together so long as it’s consistent throughout.
I’m looking forward to seeing what cute and quirky bears I whip up next!
