Beautiful Scrap Cloche. I crocheted mine in taupe Alpaca wool, cranberry Cascade 220 100% Peruvian Highland wool and cream yarn of unknown origin. These were all just scraps of yarn left over from other projects. I love creating hats from leftover yarns. They have extra character and a subtle beauty.

I was also in the mood to create another pattern, so used the colors to emphasize the stitches. The crown is made up of ribs and puff stitches, the ribs continue down through the different colors. Increasing and decreasing stitches created the waves.

Un-stretched, the hat has an opening of 22”, stretched it is 25”, so this will fit a man’s head as well as a woman’s.
