If you, like me, hate wasting yarn (and wasting in general!) and like to make use of every single remaining inch of yarn, you will adore this hat! It is perfect as a Christmas gift for the whole family, or to be donated for charity, to keep warm someone in need of love. It is a super simple (a video tutorial is included to help you working the elongated stitch), super fast and pretty pattern, easily adaptable to different yarn weight and every scrap yarn quantity!
It is designed to fit as a slightly slouchy hat, but you can customize your own making it larger, deeper (for a very slouchy version), fitted or adding a folded brim with simple modifications to the pattern.
By following the table included, you will automatically know how many sts to cast on according to your gauge (and to the yarn weight you intend to use). The color sequence is also very easily adaptable and will allow you to use whatever color you want to include!

Sizes to fit: Child (Adult S, M, L), corresponding to head circumference: 45.5 (51, 53, 56) cm /18 (20, 21, 22)”.
Shown in size L, on a 56 cm / 22” head, with approximately 1” of negative ease at brim.

Gauge: 18 sts x 28 rounds = 10 cm /4” with 4 mm (US 6) needle in stockinette st; 20 sts x 32 rounds = 10 cm /4” with 3.75 mm (US 5) needle in 2 x 2 twisted rib after blocking.

Yarn: approximately 150 (170, 180, 200 meters) / 164 (186, 197, 218) yards of Worsted weight yarn.
Yarn used in the sample: Malabrigo Rios (Worsted, 100% SW merino, 192 meters (210 yards) /100 gr, in the following colors and quantities:
C1: Illusion, 60 m / 66 yards
C2: Sand Bank, 54 m / 59 yards
C3: Aguas, 39 m / 43 yards
C4: Playa, 58 m / 64 yards
Yarn quantity must be adapted in case of use of a different yarn weight, and will also be modified by modifications to the original design (for example, an higher brim will require more C1 yarn).
