Sometimes, the best knits are the simple ones. The Sea Salt fingerless mitts are a basic design, knit in stockinette with rolled edges, and perfect for all kinds of yarn, from subtle tonals to chaotic variegations. This pattern is best for the days when you just need a mindless knit to keep your fingers busy, and the days after that when you just need a simple accessory to keep your hands warm.

Sizes
There are four sizes in the pattern: 1 (18cm / 7.25” hand circumference), 2 (20cm / 8” hand circumference), 3 (22.5cm / 9” hand circumference), and 4 (25cm / 10” hand circumference).

Work the size closest to your measurement. If between sizes, size up. Find your size by measuring the circumference of your hand below your fingers (not including your thumb).

Yarn and Yardage
The sample is knit in Midknit Cravings Yarn Co. Light Sock (85% organic merino, 15% nylon, 437 yards / 100g) in City of Bridges, and the pattern needs approximately 180 - 210 yards.

Notions
Knitting needles (DPNs or circulars), stitch markers, contrasting scrap yarn, and a darning needle.

Techniques
The fingerless mitts are knit in the round from the cuff up. This pattern is suitable for beginner knitters who are familiar with working fingerless mitts in the round and gusset thumb construction.
