A crochet lace shawlette gives immediate panache to any outfit. The stitches completely transform when blocking, so blocking is a must! This shawlette is as wide as a traditional shawl but not as deep, so it can be wrapped several times around the neck.

YARN Ancient Arts Fibre Crafts Fingering/ Sock SW Merino/Stellina Sparkle (84% superwash merino, 16% stellina sparkle; 372 yd 340 m/3½ oz 100 g; ): #SS01 she sells sea shells, 3 skeins.

HOOK Sizes G/6 (4 mm) and E/4 (3.5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

NOTIONS Yarn needle.

GAUGE 20 sts and 10 rows = 4” in dc with smaller hook; 4 reps and 9 rows = 5” in sh patt with smaller hook. Although gauge is not critical, get as close as possible to ensure you have enough yarn for the project.
