The Sea Urchin Hexagon Bag is part of the Sea Life Pattern Collection, which was designed for the Sydney - Airlie Beach - Sydney Cruise in January 2025.

Now a stand-alone pattern (with her sister patterns being released at a later date), a detailed description with an extended pattern is available to the public.

The Sea Urchin pattern offers several pattern choices for the hexagons that will be sewn together to form a cute little bag with enough storage for a purse, some make-up, your phone and other small items. Alternatively, you can use it for your little lunch.

There are no holes in the bag, which means you can store even tiny things without fearing to loose them.

The choice of yarn is yours. I have used my signature yarn, Best of Both Worlds, a 50/50 Cotton/Merino blend in a DK/8ply weight that is a dream to work with. Soft to the tough, yet sturdy, with enough elasticity to be easy on the hands and just the right amount of sharpness for fantastic stitch definition. For best results, use a clean yarn with little or subtle variegation at the most.
3 50g balls in two or three different colours are enough to make the complete bag including handles. For most variety, I recommend three contrasting colours:
Main Colour 1 (MC1): a dark colour
Main Colour 2 (MC2): a lighter version of MC1 or a contrasting colour
Contrast Colour (CC): a neutral colour that will contrast with MC1 and MC2 or a colour in the same colour family that complements both.

The pattern includes detailed photo tutorials for all techniques used and special stitches, plus videos for each round of the hexagons.

There are also pattern variations for the hexagons and four different handle options include in the extended pattern.

A print friendly version is added as a bonus.
