Sea Waves Hat
The hat has a wavy cable inspired by an original 1940s Golden Eagle knitting pattern of the same name. The waves are created by travelling cables, there is a folded ribbed brim.
Materials
2 50g balls of Sirdar Cashmere Merino Silk DK (20% Silk - 75% Wool - 5% Cashmere, 232 m/254 yrds per 100g) or other DK yarn
A pair of 3.75 mm (UK 9, US 5) knitting needles
A pair of 4 mm (UK 8, US 6) knitting needles
A cable needle
A tapestry needle
Techniques
Casting on, Casting off, Stretchy rib cast on method (photo-illustrated technique), cables, knit and purl stitches, mattress stitch (photo-illustrated technique) and K1, P1 rib.
