Hi!! I made a small mistake in the pattern

In the pattern uploaded previously, for row 3 the first step was

sc 1, leave 3 sts, 5dc into the 4th st, leave 3 sts sc into the next st. This is a shell stitch.

The correct step is
sc 1, leave 2 sts, 5dc into the 3rd st, leave 2 sts, sc into the next st. This is a shell stitch.

So sorry for any inconvenience! I’m still figuring out pattern writing, if you have downloaded the pattern previously, re-download the new pattern

I’m Caitlyn, I’m a high school student, and this is my first crochet pattern!

It’s mostly improvised, and the sizing may be a little off, but I had a lot of fun making it and I will continue to improve it in the future!

The bag is just a simple shell stitch tote bag, I’ve used US terminology.

It’s the perfect beginner-friendly pattern. I’ve also used thermal stitch for the strap so it can hold more weight and stretch.

I’m still new to writing patterns so if the terminology is unclear please let me know! Thank you :)
