September Socks
September always feels like a time for starting something new. The summer is over, the autumn equinox is approaching and in the last days of warmth before the trees start to drop their leaves there’s a kind of magic that feels just right for new beginnings and new intentions.
The twisted stitches of the September Socks create a pattern that represents both new and familiar; circles enclosed in soft diamonds that are carried down the sock by transitional stitches to start a new circle - we take a step on from what we know to learn something new. There’s always something new to learn, but nothing we have learnt is left behind.
The September Socks are constructed as top down socks with a Ribbed Heel Flap and gusset, and this heel flap is designed to be stretchier so that the sock will be comfortable on any width of heel - perfect for those who find them a bit tight. This pattern is written for four sizes, and the length of the sock is easily adjusted for any foot.
