Introducing the Serena Scarf

Inspired by a stitch I’ve carried since childhood.

Many of you already know how much I love crochet details. The little scalloped edging on the Serena Top is one of my favourites, and it is one I learned as a little girl.

Of course, you can find this stitch in crochet dictionaries and stitch collections, but that is not how I know it. I learned it by heart as a child, and after all these years my hands still remember it. There is something very different about making a stitch from memory rather than looking it up in a book. To me, it feels less like a stitch pattern and more like a small piece of my childhood.

After finishing the Serena Top, I kept imagining that same detail on a scarf—something simple, soft, and quick to make, with a touch of romance. The Serena Scarf grew from that idea: a small project inspired by a memory that has stayed with me all these years.

Light, cozy, and easy to wear, it is the perfect little project for a quiet afternoon of knitting or to take along on your summer adventures.

I hope you enjoy knitting it as much as I enjoyed designing it.
