Serena’s Lacehat is a double layered hat. The inner layer is knitted with a soft and warm sock yarn, which includes silk. The outer layer is knitted in a delightful lace pattern out of a 100% alpaca yarn.
Perfect for cold winter days and delicate and feminine at the same time.
Because of the different fabrics you don’t have to worry about potentional itchyness of the alpaca blend on your forehead.

You start knitting at the top of the inner layer, work increases and then straight to the hem. Before starting the hem, you change your knitting direction, so the right sight of the stockinette will show up right underneath the lacey layer.
Once you’ve finished the hem you go on knitting with the alpaca to create the outer layer.

In the end you fold the inner hat into the outer one.

10 cm (4 in) = 28 sts in stockinette stitch with “Merida”
10 cm (4 in) = 26 sts in lace pattern with “Cusi”

Serenas Lacehat hält dich schön warm am Kopf.
Der Trick: die Mütze ist doppelt gestrickt. Die innere Mütze wird aus einer feinen Wolle-Seide-Mischung gearbeitet. Sobald du am Bündchen angekommen bist, drehst du deine Arbeit auf links, um die äußere Mütze zu stricken.
Das Lace-Muster verschwimmt durch das flauschige Alpakagarn etwas, wählst du für die innere Mütze aber eine Kontrastfarbe, klart es wieder auf und kommt perfekt zur Geltung. Das Muster ist einfach zu stricken und seht einprägsam, daher ist es trotz raffinierter Optik auch für ambitionierte Anfänger geeignet.
