2014 was the Chinese year of the Horse –the Seventh sign of the zodiac.
We welcomed new ‘foals’ born that year by knitting them a Seventh!

This free pattern is written for 8ply/DK weight yarn, and to fit a newborn babe, with an approximate head circumference of 30cm, 32.5cm, or 35cm (3 sizes).

CONSTRUCTION
This hat is constructed from the brim upwards, and is knit in the round.
It features a very simple textured stitch, that will work well for solid, semisolid, or variegated yarn.
The crown of the hat is finished without having to incorporate the textured stitch into crown decreases.
You will need to know how to knit small circumferences in the round –either utilising‘Magic Loop’ or with Double Pointed needles. If you are not familiar with these techniques you may need to reference a knitting guide book, or view videos on the internet.
