This pattern is my contribution to a challenge set out in the MKAL Survivors group to make a square for a Lord of the Rings themed afghan.
I chose Gandalfs white horse Shadowfax.
He is depicted in front of a circle with a Celtic pattern inside. I took my inspiration from Medieval illustrations.

You can knit this with any kind of wool, in any weight. The best result will be with a yarn with a high wool content.

I knitted this with sockwool using needle size 3 and in hindsight it might have been better to use a smaller needle size 2 1/2, to make the stitches slightly tighter.

It’s great for leftovers.

I hope you will enjoy knitting this pattern!
