Shawl With A View: Paris! A striking rectangular shawl designed to resemble the Old Paris skyline, filled with remarkable buildings and landmarks, using a combination of two-color brioche and garter stitch.
This shawl was designed in collaboration with La Bien Aimée to celebrate 10 years of creating gorgeous and unique yarns! I am so honored to have been a part of their festivities! If you are in Paris, you can visit their Pop-Up Shop and see this shawl in person, as well as see all their beautiful yarn! LBA is a very special yarn to me, and I have been following them since they opened in 2015, which coincidentally is also the year I started my design business! I even ordered yarn from their first-ever shop update and have since designed over 10 patterns using their yarns (12 to be exact).
Yarn notes:
Grab 4 skeins of light fingering weight yarn in 2 colors for this striking rectangular shawl inspired by the beautiful landmarks of Paris, France!! I highly recommend using yarns in high contrasting colors for the best outcome. Honestly it doesn’t really matter which color you use for Main or Contrast because it is completely reversible, one side looking like Paris in the daytime, and the other side at night. Please note that I did have yarn left over, I did not use all. I add 10% extra yardage / meterage to account for differences in gauge and tension. If you are afraid you may run out of yarn, please feel free to go down a needle size. Feel free to omit certain blocks or buildings to suit your preferences.
See photos here of my yarn in skein form, hand picked by the lovely folks at La Bien Aimée.
This pattern has both written instructions as well as charts for all sections except for the brioche borders. I recommend following the charts for the best knitting experience.

Construction Notes:
This graphic and striking rectangular shawl is knit from side to side, using a combination of two-color brioche and two-color (or micro) garter stitch. With each row, you are building the old city skyline of Paris, France! This pattern will keep you engaged as you travel from block to block. I have provided both written instructions as well as charts! For the best possible knitting experience, I highly recommend following the charts. Especially if you’re a visual person. Schematic is included with a Block by Block breakdown of each section. This way, you can modify your pattern to accommodate your yardage / meterage, for instance by removing a building or block if you need to.
I love gigantic rectangular shawls, they are so easy to wear! I love wearing mine draped over my shoulders with the bulk of the shawl around my back. You can also wrap it around your neck and shoulders for a daring accessory!
