Sheep Shelly Plushie
Meet your new lovely plushie - Shelly the Sheep!
This beginner-friendly pattern is designed to be worked with super bulky plush chenille yarns like Himalaya Dolphin Baby, Wolans Yarns Bunny Baby, or YarnArt Dolce, giving your finished toy a soft, velvety feel. Although you can also use other yarns like Bernat Blanket or similar bulky yarns, just keep in mind that the toy’s size will vary depending on your yarn choice.
Pattern Details:
Written in English (US crochet terms).
Designed for right-handed crocheters.
No sew crochet pattern.
Includes:
- A full crochet video tutorial (YouTube link and QR code included in the PDF). The video has no spoken audio (calm background music only), but includes clear written instructions on screen. It’s a thorough, 1-hour tutorial divided into chapters with clickable timestamps. You can adjust the video speed using YouTube settings.
- A print-friendly PDF pattern (4 pages total, including 2 pages of text-only instructions — no process photos). It’s easy to print in black and white.
Skills Required - basic crochet knowledge:
ch – chain
st / sts – stitch / stitches
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
inc – increase
dec – decrease
Materials & Tools:
- chunky chenille / plush yarn (100% polyester, 100 g / 120 m = 3.5 oz / 131 yds)
yarn consumption:
muzzle color: ~ 7 g = 0.25 oz
body color: ~ 35 g = 1.23 oz
- 4 mm (size G-6) crochet hook;
- stuffing - polyester fiberfill (hollow fiber);
- scissors;
- yarn needle;
- stitch marker (or thin thread);
- thin black yarn for embroidering the eye lines and nose;
- 10 mm (0.39 in) plastic safety eyes;
- two thin threads to mark eye and ear positions.
Finished Size:
The size of the finished toy is about 12 cm (4.7 in) if you use the specified or similar materials and tools.
