The Shell We Beach Mat is a beach day necessity for any crochet loving mermaid!!! This fun and simple crochet beach mat features a seashell motif made with the tapestry crochet colorwork method. It’s great for sunbathing, picnics, back yard WIPping, yoga, and as a tropical mat for any occasion.

Construction
The Shell We Beach Mat is worked bottom up in DC. The first and final thirds of the pattern are one color simple DC. The middle section uses 3 color tapestry crochet. Video tutorials for those new to tapestry crochet are provided. A simple border and tassels are added at the end to finish.

Finished Measurements
If using my gauge and suggested yarn, the mat measures approximately 34” wide by 76” long. There are instructions for making your mat wider, more narrow, taller, and shorter.

Suggested Yarn:
A bulky weight cotton is suggested with my sample being made with Premier Cotton Fair Bulky Yarn.

Yardage:
The sample was crocheted using worsted weight cotton yarn.

MC (Seafoam) - 1530 yds
CC1 (Ballet Pink) - 350 yds
CC2 (Violet) - 205 yds
