The shily scarf is knitted flat, back and forth, from tip to tip, with integrated thin i-cord edges. The stitch pattern is primarily created on the right-side rows, while the wrong-side rows are purled throughout, maintaining the i-cord edges.

The scarf has a standard length so that it can be wrapped around the neck twice. The pattern includes advice on how to adjust width and length to your needs.

Approx. 24sts x 32rows = 10cm x 10cm stockinette on 2.5mm needles.
It is not necessary to get gauge exactly – it is just an approximate gauge for the recommended yarn meterage and needle size. Just stick to 2.5mm needles and the recommended meterage of the yarn to achieve approximately the measurements given above. If you want to deviate from the needle size or yarn meterage, I recommend starting directly with the pattern as a “gauge swatch,” since the pattern explains how to easily adjust the width and length to your preferences while knitting.
