This cowl is for anyone who thinks of sequins as a neutral or anyone looking for a woolly alternative to a statement necklace. This simple cowl combines a mohair and a sequined yarn for a shimmery treat to wear to holiday parties or just to add a touch of glamour every day.

For our sample and our kits, we chose mohair and Paillettes colourways as similar to each other as possible, but combining contrasting colours would make for an interesting marled effect.

SIZES
One size
25.5cm/10” deep, 25cm/10” wide at top, and 29cm /11.5” wide at base.

YARN
1 25g ball of lace-weight mohair (210m/230yds)
1 ball of Lana Gatto Paillettes
Our sample used one ball each of Drops Kid-Silk in Petrol and Paillettes in Jade. We chose the Malachite colourway of our Shimmer Cowl kit. The different kit colourways use different lace-weight mohairs that have similar compositions and meterage.

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
5.0 & 5.5 mm (US 8 & 9) 40cm/16” circular needles, or size to obtain gauge
Darning needle

GAUGE
Approx. 18 sts and 24 rows = 10cm/4” in stockinette stitch with yarn held together on larger needle, after blocking. Changes in gauge will affect meterage required and finished size.
