The stitch pattern in this hat makes me think of what the tracks in the sand would look like if shorebirds danced. This hat is knit in the round, and is designed to be loose in the head area, but snug at the ribbing. The pattern uses slipped stitches for the two-color knitting technique, so only one color yarn is worked per row. The second color on the round is formed by slipping stitches from the previous round. This method is much easier than stranded knitting when using more than one color. The pattern includes detailed instructions for the stitch pattern.
