These socks are slightly different than the usual roll top sock. I’ve incorporated twisted stitches from cast on to just after the gusset which provides a snugger fit and helps prevent any slippage, which enabled me to make them super shorties.

No ribbing required! Just CO and knit. Socks have more negative ease, resulting in a tighter fitting sock. Gauge swatching is important for this pattern, due to the snugger fit.

I would recommend this pattern for the adventurous beginner; even with the twisted sts it is an extremely quick knit with straightforward top down patterning/construction.

Yarn requirements are minimal. These would make great scrappy socks:) I was able to get 2 pairs from 1 skein (with both yarns) knit in the small size to pattern gauge.

The light lilac pair were knit with:
1 skein Cloudborn Fibers Merino Superwash sock twist 80% Superwash Merino wool/ 20% polyamide 467 yd./427 m 3.5 oz./100 g. ~Lavender Heather colorway~

The striped pair were knit with:
1 skein Superba bamboo Superwash 50% Virgin wool/ 25% polyamide/ 25% viscose 100 g. 420 m
