Silent Night Mittens is a stranded colorwork design featuring a winter scene. The mittens have an afterthought thumb construction. The design works equally well with dark on light or light on dark. Some sections of the design (the front part of the mittens) require you to carry yarn over longer stretches of one color; therefore, it is recommended that you utilize a float catching technique.

Materials
• US Size 0 (2mm) set of dpns or circular needles (for Magic Loop method); US size 00 (1.75mm) for ribbing (optional)
• Fingering weight yarn - 231y/50 g (211m/50g). You will need about 127 yds - Background Color and 145 yds - Contrast Color

Gauge
9 sts x 13 rows (knitting in the round) in 1” x 1” after blocking

The sample mittens were knit by Mitt ♥ ♥ ♥ and myself.
