I hadn’t found a name yet for my new design. In the early morning the day of the photo-shoot, I woke up to the lovely sound of silent rain falling. I opened up my window as much as I could and stood there for a long time, enjoying the smell of earth and the silent rain falling. I knew that along with me trees, shrubs, plants and animals would find pleasure in that moment.
With some imagination the lace-pattern of my new design evokes the silent rain falling….

Design and construction
The hem, back and sleeves are embelllished with the “silent-rain lace-pattern”. The front is worked in stockinette sts.
The shoulders are slightly sloped for a nice fit.
The top is worked bottom-up and seamlessly.
The lower body is worked in the round to underarms. Work is divided and upper back and upper front are worked flat in separate pieces.
The slope of the shoulder is created by short-rows.
The neckline is worked in the round from picked-up (or spared) sts. The sleeves are worked top-down and in the round from picked up sts.

Sizes
There are 10 sizes to choose from.
Finished bust measurements are:
30.5/34/37.5/40.5/43.5/47/51/54/57.5/61”.
The sample is worked in size 2 with 2” of positive ease.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a fingering weight yarn, that knits up to gauge, to work the top. I used “Merino Single”, in the colourway “Bare-foot”, from Fru Valborg, to work my top. This fingering weight, merino yarn, comes in skeins of 365 m = 400 yards, You will need approximately 700/730/800/875/950/1025/1100/1175/1275/1375 m =765/795/885/955/1035/1120/1200/1280/1390/1500 yards of this specific yarn to work the top. Needles: size 3 mm/US2.5 (or size to obtain gauge).
Notions: 2 removable stitch-markers, waste-yarn (or separate holders), tapestry needle, blocking tools.

Gauge
28 sts and 38 - 40 rounds/rows in stockinette sts, as well as in the stitch-pattern = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.
