Measurements/Size
Beige/Red = 5 rows; Green = 7 rows
This is an adult woman’s size headband measuring about 40 cm in length (excluding ties). The headband is sized at 10 cm less than the head circumference to account for the bowtie in the back.
This headband can be adjusted to any height and size. Decide how high you would like yours to be. The beige/red one is 5 rows in total. The green one is 7 rows. You can also adjust head circumference size using the headband sizing chart below.
Yardage
I used about 17 m for this project (18.5 yards) for a 5-Row headband.
Gauge
16 stitches and 10 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm (4”) in dc with 4 mm hook
Notes
- Use any type of yarn to achieve gauge.
-
Try to crochet over your yarn tails so you don’t have to weave them in later.
-
Numbers at the end of each row (in brackets) indicate the number of final stitches in that row.
-
Ch 1 at the beginning of a row does not count as a stitch. I opted for a ch 1 instead of the usual ch 2 to minimize the turning chain gaps at the end of the rows.
-
Please note that I use US crochet terms.
