I wanted a simple messy bun hat pattern, one that only used basic stitches, that could be easily embellished if desired. I also wanted the option of using an elastic hair tie at the top or leaving that out. After sifting through a ton of patterns and not really finding what I wanted, I just decided to sit down and make my own pattern for it. I feel like this could be worked up just as easily by a beginner as it could by a crocheter with years under their belt.

Materials:
H (5mm) hook
Elastic hair tie
Worsted or DK weight yarn
Scissors, needle, stitch marker

CH - chain
SC - single crochet
SLST - slip stitch
HDC - half double crochet
INC - increase
FO - fasten off
