This cute little cup cozy is a really fun way to practice your stitching! It is worked flat using just knits and purls. There is an option to seam together the ends for a travel mug or to create a button flap for a mug with a handle (this option includes slightly more advanced skills, but if you’re up for some decreasing and yarn overs, I encourage you to give it a try!). Though simple, this cup cozy still has some interest. We’re flipping the tables here, with a textured body and a rolled stockinette edge instead of the usual stockinette body and textured edge.

Because it is worked flat, you can make this cozy to fit the exact measurements of your favorite cup or mug. The pattern includes instructions for two different widths: a shorter version for handled mugs and a slightly taller version for travel mugs.

Level: Beginner. Knit and purl, plus p2tog and yo for the buttoned version.
