The Simply Cabled Baby Blanket includes clearly written instructions for a classic unisex cabled baby blanket.
Blanket requires approximately 700 yds worsted weight yarn, and recommended needles are size 8, 24-32” circular.
Sample used 4 skeins of Berroco Vintage, in color 5136 (Bird’s Egg).
Recommended gauge is 4.5 stitches = 1” in stockinette stitch.
Although the blanket is knit in cabled stitch pattern, gauge is provided in stockinette stitch, for ease in determining appropriate sized needles based on how you knit.
Change needle size as necessary, to achieve correct gauge and/or a fabric that you like. Since this is a blanket, exact gauge is not critical. It will, however, affect the finished size and amount of yarn used.

Skills required include casting on, knitting, purling, basic cable skills, increasing (knitting into the front and back of a stitch), decreasing (knitting 2 stitches together), and binding off.
Blanket is knit flat in one piece. It is worked on a circular needle to accommodate the width of the blanket.
