A lovely warm beanie for winter, with an interesting slalom twist. Using increases and decreases, you’ll slalom your stocking stitches down the slope.

Materials needed:

  • 50g of 4ply / fingering yarn

  • a set of 40cm circular needles to get gauge. I used 4mm (US 6) but I’m a tight knitter. If you’re a loose knitter, I’d recommend 3.75mm (US 5).

  • a set of double pointed needs in the same gauge to take over from the circular needles when the diameter gets too small. You could also use the magic loop method with a similar circular needle.

  • a set of 40cm circular needles two sizes smaller for the ribbing.

Sizes:

Small: 52cm / 20.5 inches circumference, brim up: 20cm / 7.9in, brim down: 24cm / 9.5in

Large: 58cm / 22..8in circumference, height brim up: 21cm / 8.25in, brim down: 26cm / 10.2in
