Slipping Through My Fingers is a song from Mama Mia. I love this film, but even more so I love Abba and this song composed by Benny and Björn is another triumph! The lyrics mean so much to me. My triplets are now grown, working and two are living abroad. It’s a big adjustment to watch your children grow and then start their new lives independently. Slipping through your fingers lyrics aptly pens those feelings for me. I am so proud of my children finding their strength and independence to start life. I look forward to times we will spend together in the future and hear about all their adventures. I designed these socks to be a simple knit. When I want to cast on a sock, allowing my mind to wander over all my wonderful memories and thoughts of the future and what it may bring. The slipped stitch runs all the way down the ankle to the foot in a four round pattern repeat. It creates a wonderful effect and works well with all yarns, whether a solid, speckle, striped or patterned yarn. The length of the leg on this sock is entirely up to you. It has been tested as an ankle sock and also a calf length sock. The way the pattern is written, you will knit a definite left and right sock. This is well written in the pattern and easy to follow.
