Chevrons are still in! After making several blankets of different sizes, I wanted a hat and wanted the chevrons to be vertical and not horizontal. I also love working hats flat right now, so I came up with this pattern!

The pattern has a 4 row repeat: SC, SC, HDC, and DC. There is extra visual and textural interest with the camel stitch created the raised/rib in the center of each color stripe.

In this pattern I used three colors, 4 rows per color, for a total of 12 stripes (4 stripes in each of the 3 colors). HOWEVER, you could change it up if you’d like, change colors at random, or do 2 colors with 6 stripes in each or 4 colors with 3 striped in each, or even 6 colors with two stripes in each. Heck, go crazy and pick 12 colors!!

5.5mm hook produced a hat for me that was 21” in circumference.

Pull loop through method used for joining that reduces the need to cut and sew! Yarn reattached once for completing brim.

Enjoy!
