Beginner Level Pattern. Crochets quickly.

This pattern uses basic crochet stitches to crochet a slouchy houndstooth beanie using two contrasting yarns: one light and one dark yarn.

I used fingering weight yarn (#1-#2), but you can choose to use heavier weight yarns if you like. The thinner the yarn, the slouchier the effect. Also, if you use a thicker weight yarn, you will want to adjust the hook size and gauge accordingly. The pattern is written according to one’s head circumference, so the exact number of stitches and overall gauge will differ depending on the size and yarn weight that you choose.

The beanie is easy to customize to different head sizes, yarn weights or hook sizes.

The item pictured used about 200 yds each of two contrasting yarn colors using a 3mm hook and Loops and Threads Woolike Yarn #1 in White and Cool Gray.
