This guide is not like traditional patterns that you might be used to. I made this guide as a way to introduce people to freehand knitting and making knitted garments made to measure.

This means that this guide is adaptable to all needle sizes and yarn weights.

I will give you various shaping options to achieve various fit styles; baggier hoods, balaclavas closely fitted to your face, looser neck bands etc.

There is also an opportunity to make a bonnet by following a simple variation! I will indicate in the pattern where this variation will be possible so keep an eye out.

There are variations for the finishing options as well. For the face trim you have the option of a simple rib, but I also talk you through a folded rib in which you can add a drawstring. You can also add a double knit band for a sleeker finish.
