Materials used:

Size 8/H knitting needles
Est. 150 yards worsted weight yarn
Yarn needle (for weaving in ends)

Special Stitch: Smock/Smocking St -(with yarn at back of needle) count 6 stitches and insert working needle between 6th and 7th stitch on the other needle (between the loops, NOT in them). YO and draw the yarn between the 6th and 7th loop on your working needle, pulling through enough to stretch the drawn yarn across the six stitches on the other needed. Transfer drawn yarn from working needle to the other needle, and knit the drawn loop together with the next knit st on your needle. CO 46 st.

Row 1: K2 P2, K2, repeat from to end. Turn.
Row 2: P2, K2, P2, repeat from to end. Turn.
Rows 3-5: Alternate repeating 1 & 2.
Row 6: P2, Smock, K2, P2, K2, P2, Smock, repeat from to end. Turn.
Rows 7-18: Repeat rows 1-6.
Rows 19-22: Repeat rows 1-4. Bind off. Leave long tail (at least 5ins.) to sew ends together to make a seam (about an inch), then weave yarn tail along the edge of your work to the other end of the cozy. Cozy can be fastened by tying together secured yarn tails in a bow fashion, or a button and button loop can be included as desired per creator.
