A Sock Pattern designed by Julia of The Happy Knitting Podcast

When I came up with this sock pattern, it was the middle of winter in our new home and as we took our first walks in the snow, the air in our neighbourhood smelled of woodsmoke.

Somehow the contrast of the cold outside and these cozy, warm socks made me think of the name „smoky cables“.

The cables in this design are designed to be really effective and pretty, yet simple and addictive to knit (completely without a cable needle if you wish!).

As usual, my pattern is very much a “recipe“ which means I will give you my way of knitting these socks but you can experiment with different heels, cuffs, toes and make the socks to your liking!

I hope you enjoy these socks as much as I did.
xx Julia
