The Snowbird Snuggle Scarf is a modern winter essential with clean lines, cozy texture, and just enough detail to feel elevated. Knit seamlessly in the round, this scarf has no wrong side, so it drapes beautifully no matter how you style it. Finished with i-cord fringe, it strikes the perfect balance between polished and relaxed.

Designed with both new and seasoned knitters in mind, this is an easy, intuitive project that still feels intentional and chic. Beginners will love the simple construction and forgiving gauge, while experienced knitters will appreciate a quick, satisfying knit that results in a timeless accessory you’ll reach for again and again.

The pattern is fully customizable! Adjust the length and the width, knit to your gauge, and it’s designed to help you use up every last gram of yarn. Ideal for special skeins, stash yarn, or a cozy weekend project.

Finished Size:
Approx. 10 x 82 in / 26 x 208 cm after blocking (excluding fringe)
Easily adjustable to suit your style

Yarn:
Approx. 600 m / 656 yd of sport to bulky weight yarn, depending on gauge

Choose a yarn that creates a fabric you love. The sample shown was knit using Sewrella Yarn Woolly base (164 yd / 50 g), a 90% superwash merino wool / 10% recycled nylon blend with a soft, fluffy texture. Although categorized as a sport-weight yarn, it knits up at a bulky-weight gauge.
Any yarn that produces a fabric you enjoy at gauge will work well. Using a thicker worsted or bulky yarn will result in a denser, heavier fabric.

Needles:
US 10.5 (6.5 mm) 16 in / 40 cm circular needle
Spare needle for stitch rearranging
(Optional: Cordsmith or DPNs for i-cord fringe)

Gauge:
12 sts x 14 rounds = 4 in / 10 cm
in stockinette stitch worked in the round, after blocking

Whether you’re knitting your very first scarf or adding a handmade staple to your winter wardrobe, the Snowbird Snuggle Scarf is the kind of project that feels as good to knit as it does to wear.
