Fair isle ornament knitting pattern
These are the traditional nordic Christmas ornaments. Aren’t they cute and cozy? Soft and fluffy, they will be an excellent idea for stuffing the Christmas stockings. You can also use them to decorate the Christmas tree or the Holiday wreath. Kids love to play with the squishy balls too!

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Finished bauble measures about 7.5 cm/3 inches in diameter, depending on the yarn and gauge.
YARN Two contrasting colors of Patons Classic Wool Yarn, 100 % wool, 200 m/223 yds in 100 g/3.5 oz, or the yarn of your choice. You will need around 20 g/1 oz of each color.
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
US 3 (3.25 mm), double pointed needles, set of 5, or the size to obtain the gauge
Tapestry needle to weave in the ends
One stitch marker
Polyester stuffing
GAUGE 20 sts and 24 rnds = 10 cm (4 inches) in stockinette on US size 3 (3.25 mm) needles (when blocked and stuffed).

Fair isle circular knitting in rounds
Knit through front and back increase
Right/left lean increase/decrease
I-cord knitting
NOTES
This pattern is worked from bottom to the top, seamless, in rounds.
Invert the colors and you will have new version of the same ornament.
You may choose not to knit the loop and use a decorative ribbon instead.
