Snuggle Shrug
I designed this shrug to wear to bed. I often sleep on my side, and my upper back (between my shoulders) always gets cold in winter. This solved the problem for me, elevating it to “the best thing I’ve ever knit” both due to practicality and life-improvement. I recommend superwash yarn, especially if you use the shrug like I do, as it’s worn frequently and will need to be easily laundered.
This is truly a one-size-fits all garment. It fits me (a size 2X-3X adult) and my 11 year old daughter comfortably. However, it’s easily customizable.
You will need four (4) skeins of Malabrigo Rios (or other plump worsted weight yarn) for this project, or approximately 815 yards/742 meters.
I would classify this as an adventurous beginner project, for knitters who are ready to create a simple garment. Skills include knitting in the round, 1 x 1 ribbing, double decreases and increases, and picking up stitches.
This is my first design. It was not test knitted or tech edited, so I apologize if there are any errors. Feel free to contact me in the comments and I will answer any questions you have!
