This patchwork effect blanket is just a perfect gift for a new baby. You can make it any colour of course, this one was duck egg as I didn’t know whether the expected baby was a boy or a girl! It can, of course, be knit in any yarn and any size, you can increase the width of the border, or add a full additional set of “patches”…. It knits up beautifully quickly, and is a very simple pattern using just knit and purl stitches that even beginners can manage.
As it is a blanket, of course, gauge actually is not at all important!
