Social Butterfly is a fingering weight, double brimmed, stranded color-work hat that is worked from the bottom up with a provisional cast on. Pattern includes instructions for either picot brim or plain edging before starting the stranded color-work brim. One round of the stranded color work incorporates slipped stitches (butterfly antennae) and an Estonian button stitch on the (flower center) to add some 3-D interest to the butterflies and flowers, but there is also a plain chart for just working pattern in all knit stitches. The remainder of the hat is worked in stripes alternating between the main color (Stroll Shimmer, because who doesn’t like glitter) and a Stroll mini pack. Yardage listed will create 2 identical hats- 1 small and 1 large for a “momma and me” look, but contrast colors can be swapped if you don’t want them too “matchy”. Don’t forget, Grandma would like to be included too!
