Socks for our times.

All the way through the knitting of these the image in my head was of train tracks or rails, but just as I was finishing them off it hit me what they reminded me of - people queuing. Side by side, and yet separated. If there is a phrase which is universally disliked and yet so evocative of our times I think it has to be ‘socially distanced’.

This sock uses slipped stitches along the front of the foot and leg to make the most of a variegated or tonal sock yarn and it really allows to colours to pop. It’s also extremely simple to work - requiring minimal counting and is ideal for those moments when you need something fun to knit without needing any additional stress.
