Soie is a handknit version of the classic square kerchief. Featuring an elegant diamond lace body framed by a 3 stitch garter border, it’s designed to use up a precious luxury skein of yarn that knitters save for something special. The name Soie simply means “silk” in French.

PATTERN NOTES
♡ The kerchief begins at one corner with just a few cast-on stitches. Increases are worked along both edges, establishing the lace body and garter border. Once the desired width is reached, shaping is reversed by decreasing along both sides to return to the opposite corner, completing the square.
♡ The pattern incorporates 3-stitch garter edging throughout.
♡ To work with the amount of yarn you have, you can do more or fewer repeats of Chart A and Chart B.
♡ Written as well as charted instructions are provided.
♡ A row tracker (tracks RS rows only) is provided in the last page.
