Soleil
Please, enjoy 20% off discount on Soleil pattern to celebrate its release. No coupon code needed. This offer ends on Sunday, July 19th, 2026, at midnight Rome time. Thank you and happy knitting!
Soleil is a magnificent crescent shawl, worked top-down in fingering weight yarn. It starts as an easy garter stitch pattern, broken by twisted knit stitches (“Garter Stitch with a Twist”, as I call it) that transitions into simple yet breathtaking lace. The picot edging adds an elegant and romantic touch to the shawl.
This design was created in collaboration with Woolaines ♡
This pattern includes charts and row-by-row written instructions.
Size: one size; measurements after blocking: approx. 192 cm/ 75.5“ wide and 42 cm/ 16.5“ long measured from center top to bottom;
Gauge: 24 sts and 36 rows = 10 cm/ 4” in Stockinette Stitch on 3.5 mm/ US4 needles, measured flat after blocking;
Gauge is not important for this project but it will affect the size of your shawl and the yardage. Make sure you have enough yarn to complete your project.
Yarn: Woolaines Merino Single SW, 100% merino wool superwash; 400 meters (437 yards)/ 100g (3.53 oz), 2 skeins;
Needles: 3.5 mm/ US4 or needle size to obtain the gauge; it is recommended to use circular needles at least 80-100 cm/ 32”-40” long to accommodate the growing number of stitches;
Notions: tapestry needle to weave in loose ends;
I would love to see your Soleil shawls ♡ Please tag your projects #soleil_shawl and #yarnpoetryknits on social media.
Thank you and happy knitting!
