We all love the weekend. Monday seems ages away on a Friday night as we take the opportunity to relax for a couple of days. But we also know that sense of disappointment when Sunday night arrives all too quickly!

You’ll need two skeins (800m/874ys) of 4ply yarn for this triangular shawl and although it does have a big cast on, don’t let that put you off! The result is rather quite magical!

And whilst it will take you longer than a weekend to knit, this project still captures the feel of a weekend perfectly. You cast it on and the end seems so far off, and even as you’re working the first rows, you feel like you’ve got such a long way to go. But then as you move through the pattern, the rows get shorter and shorter until suddenly you’ve reached that very last stitch and you’re already looking forward to casting on your next version!

Suitable for knitters of all abilities, it’s ideal for beginners looking for a project with a slight challenge but is far easier than it looks. And for the seasoned knitter, it’s definitely got enough to keep you entertained and on your toes. It’s a fun, rhythmic pattern that is a great box set companion, but you can also put it down and pick it back up again easily without worrying too much about where you left off.

The shawl looks amazing in both single colour and multicoloured yarns (it’s a handy pattern for using up your scrappy yarns!) and can be styled in a variety of ways. It looks great on anyone an can either worn casually with jeans or to accessorise a more formal outfit.

One thing’s for sure though, whether you knit this for yourself or gift it to someone else, you’ll certainly end up knitting more than one version of this scarf in your own wardrobe!

Happy Knitting!
