A lacy, beaded cowl and light shoulder wrap.
The flowers are blooming, birds are nesting and all of the trees are in their full splendor! When the weather warms, many of us focus on our beautiful gardens by day, and enjoy knitting in the evenings. There are so many beautiful yarn choices, from which to select the perfect yarn for your summer knitting projects. I enjoy knitting with lightweight cowls, scarves and home décor items.

This project incorporates optional beading and it’s a perfect project to knit and wear in the warmer months to block the chill of the evening or too-cool air-conditioned spaces. It features drop stitch, lace and eyelet patterns, separated by rows of beaded garter stitch.

The yarn is a linen/silk blend. All beads are place between stitches. Beading is totally optional. If you choose not to bead the cowl, simply disregard the PB instructions throughout. It is knit flat and seamed with a “fake” three-needle bind off. It is 10” wide x 45” long. The gauge is 4 sts./in.

Materials
1 skein of Queensland, Savanna. Color #23, Wasabi, linen/silk blend
250 yards.
Size 6 knitting needles, in any comfortable length.
Note: Although I knit the piece with size 6 needles, my knitting is generally looser than most, and many knitters have chosen to knit it with size 7 needles. Thank you!

20 grams TOHO 6/0 seed beads. Bead color is silver lined zircon. (Approx. 300 beads) Yarn needle.
A note about this yarn. It lists as dk, but is on the thinner side. It is much like a sport weight. Thanks!

Enjoy!
