Introduction
Nothing is better than a pair of hand knit socks. In fact, they are so great, that many people who try a pair of hand knit socks vow to never wear store-bought socks again!
That being said, it takes time and patience to hand knit socks. The easiest way to fill your sock drawer is to knit “vanilla socks” in nothing but stockinette stitch. The socks will be warm and comfortable, but let’s face it, they’re boring…
This pattern will not only give you warm and comfortable socks, but “snazzy” socks! Mismatched, yet coordinating stripes will put some pep in your step! Plus, you’ll love how quickly they knit up!

Special note!

Everyone has their own favorite sock knitting method. To save you from having to convert the construction from one method to another, I have written the pattern for my two favorite sock knitting methods! You have the choice of making these socks on 5 dpns OR using magic loop, two at a time, and toe up! (Excellent step-by-step guide by Heidi Bears here) If you’re feeling really adventurous, you could even make two pairs! One using each method!

Both methods use the “Fish Lips Kiss Heel”, designed by SoxTherapist. If you do not already own this great heel pattern, it is well worth the $1 purchase price. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fish-lips-kiss-heel
