SouloFab
SouloFab is a shrug with sleeves that looks very much like a shawl. SouloFab is knitted all in one. You start by working across the back, working back and forth on the needle. Then you cast on new stitches at each side of the work. These are sleeve stitches that are attached to the start of the work when you pick up stitches from the foundation row. Then, to form the fronts and collar and complete the back, you work in the round until the work is finished. You cast off using the standard chain bind-off method. Finally, you pick up stitches for the sleeves, which you work in rib.
SouloFab has slightly eccentric shaping. To establish which size you need, you have to take measurements in an unusual way. I call this the “infinity measurement method”. You will need a long measuring tape or a ribbon that you can measure afterwards. Lay the tape/ribbon across the back of your neck, cross it in front of your torso and join loosely at the back of your hips.
Yarn ideas: The red model (pictured) is knitted using 3 strands of yarn:
2 strands of Gepard Puno, Col 334 Bright red, 50 g/110 m, 10 balls/XS-S, 12 balls/M, 16 balls/L-XL
1 strand of Gepard Kid Seta, Col 407 Black, 25 g/210 m, 3 balls/XS-S, 4 balls/M, 5 balls/L-XL
Important note: You can, of course, use other yarns. Make the pattern sample to ensure that your yarns are suitable for this pattern.
