This pattern started off as a doodle during church this past September. I’m frequently caught drawing out notes when listening to people speak and this was no different. Except, this time the pattern I was doodling came to life.

The color combo I used for this beanie reminds me of the Southwest and of Autumn colors which is why I call it the Southwest Fall Beanie.

For this beanie you will need four different colors of yarn. While the instructions call for 1 skein of each color, in reality you don’t need a full skein of 3 colors, so feel free to use some beloved yarn leftover from another project!

I used US size 7 needles when creating this pattern and I tend to hold average tension. If you tend to knit tighter you’ll want to size up to a US 8 needle.

This beanie is a great option for a beginning colorwork project so if you’re thinking of starting your first colorwork project try this pattern!
