Materials:
- Red Heart Super Saver (or similar WW4 brand) yarn matches for character choice:
o Red- Cherry Red
o Blue- Royal Blue
o Black- Charcoal
o Yellow- Bright Yellow
o White- White
o Pink- Shocking Pink
o Cerulean- Turqua
o Orange- Pumpkin
o Brown- Coffee
o Purple- Amethyst
o Lime- Spring Green
o Green- Paddy Green
o Grey- light Grey or Dusty Grey
Yardage is approximate on the following table depending on how tight or loose you crochet but this will give you a close idea on how much you need per hat size

  • Size “I” (5.50 MM) hook
  • Size “H” (5.00 MM) hook
  • Size “G” (4.25 MM) hook
  • Size “F” (3.75 MM) hook
  • Small amount of fiberfill
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
  • Optional: Styrofoam head for attaching pieces (highly recommended for straight placement of pieces, however, safety pins will also work for pinning pieces to hat) Notes:
  1. This pattern is for the base hat only, please see separate listing for the growing collection of accessory patterns (plant top, banana, plunger, cheese, ninja, cherry etc)
  2. This pattern was created with the beginner in mind, there are no complicated stitches: SC, HDC
  3. This pattern is written in US terms for the right-handed crocheter
  4. This pattern currently includes 3 sizes (will be updated as more sizes are created): a. M- large child- fits head circumference up to 21.5” b. L- (teen) – fits head circumference up to 22” c. XL- Adult- fits head circumference 23-24”
  5. This pattern contains many photos to help you along the way
  6. This pattern was tested with Red Heart Super Saver yarns
  7. Gauge using HDC and size “I” (5.50 MM) hook: 12 rows= 4”, 14 sts= 4”
  8. Chains at beginning of rounds do not count in stitch count
  9. Colored Numbers in parentheses at beginning of rounds indicate number of sts to use for size
  10. Stitches in brackets are to be repeated total number times stated after brackets
  11. Numbers in parentheses at end of rounds indicate total stitch count for round
  12. Finished product: wash in cold or luke-warm water, tumble dry on low heat or lay flat to dry
