These are the first in a series of patterns highlighting this beautiful but deceptively simple lace pattern.

The gently branching lace alongside twisted stitches and ribbing of these socks are reminiscent of the drooping, swaying Spanish Moss that grows all over the trees in the American South

Note on sizing, even though these socks are a combination of ribbing and lace there isn’t a lot of give to the fabric. Using a larger needle and slightly looser gauge, and or leaving the back of the leg in stockinette rather than the lace will allow for the necessary room for a larger ankle and foot.
